"The Redeemer"
Sometimes I just want to start over, 'cause everything looks like a wreck
And I need the courage to carry on, 'cause I can't see what's ahead
And there are places I've wished I could be, battles I've wanted to win
Dreams that have slipped through my hands
I may never get back again
But I'm still a dreamer, a believer
Oh, I've lost my faith in so many things, but I still believe in You
'Cause You can make anything new
And I need the courage to carry on, 'cause I can't see what's ahead
And there are places I've wished I could be, battles I've wanted to win
Dreams that have slipped through my hands
I may never get back again
But I'm still a dreamer, a believer
Oh, I've lost my faith in so many things, but I still believe in You
'Cause You can make anything new
That is just a part of the song, but I think it conveys a message worth examining if you are in the position of having your marriage and family in turmoil due to feelings of being abandoned by your wife, being separated, or maybe having gone through a divorce that you did not want.
We are torn. We want to start over in our lives, yet we also want to ask God to fix our broken marriages. We can do BOTH through Our Lord. He has the power to remake our marriages. But we have to come to Him and ask Him for His devine help. I believe God wants to help us with our marriages. Most of the time we just need to get out of the way and let Him.
Pray for God to change your heart, and then ask Him to change your wife's heart. Then get out of the way and let Him work.
Revelations 21:5-7: And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
